“It seems as if we have been in ‘crisis mode’ since straight-line winds tore through Camp Siloam in June 2019. A tornado a few weeks later and the virus crisis have been challenging for ministry and leadership.”
Normally, at Camp Siloam we see 400–450 campers make professions of faith in a summer. For the last 10 years, there has been a lot of energy and excitement around the revitalization of Camp Siloam. Not having campers here, not seeing the growth and movement toward our vision, mission and purpose has been challenging for the staff.
At the same time, our Heavenly Father has shown His mighty right hand. He has sustained Jesus’ ministry at Camp Siloam when several camps have closed during the virus crisis. Summer camp is the most effective tool the church has to reach kids with the transformative power of the Gospel.
What is needed now is to see more kids come to camp in summer 2021. The more campers come, the more kids get saved.
PRAYER POINTS: Pray that God would give families the confidence to send kids to Camp Siloam this summer. Praise God for sustaining His ministry through the generosity of His people. Pray that our Father would remove the obstacles that are in the way for the lost to come to camp—and to Him.
