Arkansas Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries receive Family Ministry Center

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries (ABCH) is excited to announce the launch of a new headquarters at 9701 W. Markham Street.

On February 1, Arkansas Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries received our largest gift in its history. Markham Street Baptist Church transferred ownership of its campus to ABCH. This unique partnership provides the church with the ability to continue to gather as a church body and minister to the community it has served while utilizing its facilities in a greater capacity.

The Markham Street campus will serve as the new ABCH headquarters, providing a statewide ministry hub for each of the ministries that encompass our organization and allow us to expand into new areas of ministries. In addition to the new ABCH administrative location, the Family Ministry Center will allow us to provide Arkansas families with more resources for counseling, advocacy, foster care, and adoption.

The center will provide a new Living Well Counseling location for the Little Rock area. Connected Foster Care & Adoptions will have a resource center for foster families and visitation space for biological families, along with training and office space for staff. Desired Haven Family Care will have training and meeting space for advocates and staff. We are excited about the new opportunities this space will allow us to provide children and families.

We anticipate opening the foster care resource center and counseling center this summer with more ministries added as space is completed. With over 50,000 square feet of renovations, we need our Arkansas Baptist family to help us with this incredible opportunity to greater serve the most vulnerable in our state. We need volunteer church groups and individuals to help us prepare this space for ministry. Everything from cleaning and organizing to painting and flooring is needed.
