UPDATE
Arkansas Baptist State Convention Disaster Relief partnered with the IMB and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief international crisis response efforts (SEND Relief) in Romania where almost 600,000 Ukrainians have fled.
In early April, a team of six volunteers from the Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief traveled to Romania to assist however they might be needed. On April 14, we received the following report from our team:
“There is currently a shortage of construction workers in Romania. The men on our team are skilled in construction. Since they have been there, these individuals have been able renovate the church kitchen and provide maintenance around the building, delivered kitchen appliances to a refugee camp, and built a fence around the trash site at the refugee camp. The women have been working faithfully at the church doing projects like washing and sorting clothes. They have had some opportunities to interact with refugees. They have been able to help process 1,586 refugees through the church as of yesterday.”
PRAY
Pray for our team as they wrap up their service time in Romania and travel back to the United States. They’re scheduled to return April 16.
Pray for the refugees who have fled their homes and cities due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Pray for all the volunteers that are working with local Baptist partners and churches in Ukraine, Romania and twelve other nearby nations as they respond to the needs created by the growing crisis.
