LINCOLN, Ark. –Allison Bond’s grandma, who died in 2015, told her to “always do good.”
Heeding that wisdom, Bond decided to do good in the world by sharing encouragement and God’s love through writing letters to strangers. She named the ministry her Kindness Through Letters Mission (KTLM) project.
“I took it on myself and decided to do good in the world by spreading God’s love to people by writing a bunch of letters,” Bond said. “This is a way I honor (my grandma) – by spreading God’s love with the world.”
Born and raised in northwest Arkansas, the 26-year-old began writing letters in July 2021, sharing kindness with others during a time of isolation caused by the pandemic.
To date, Bond has mailed more than 2,000 handwritten letters and cards to inmates, soldiers, sick children and whoever else needs encouragement and God’s love.
“I love spreading God’s love throughout the world. My goal with this ministry is to bless as many people as I can as I slowly expand this mission to bless more people and spread God’s love and kindness throughout the world,” Bond said.
Bond, who has mild cerebral palsy, attends Liberty Baptist Church in Lincoln.
“I think everybody has a calling. Everybody needs to do what they feel like God is calling them to do and she feels called to encourage people,” Pastor Jason Taylor said, noting Bond often also writes comments of encouragement to families on the funeral home website. “She finds opportunities to encourage people.”
