Arkansas Baptist Children & Family Ministries’ counseling division, Living Well Professional Counseling, is hosting an event to encourage pastors.
The Shepherds Conference, which is also sponsored by the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, Williams Baptist University and Ouachita Baptist University, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 at the Arkansas Baptist Children & Family Ministries’ central office, 9701 W. Markham St., in Little Rock.
“Everyone needs a recharge, including pastors. So often when pastors attend an event, they still feel the pressure to be ‘on.’ The Shepherds Conference is designed for pastors to simply come be encouraged. Not all pastors are experiencing the same struggles and not all are experiencing the same successes. But all pastors need to be refreshed and encouraged,” said Tim Noel, director of church partnership and mission advancement.
The keynote speaker of the conference is John McCallum, who has served as pastor of First Baptist Church in Hot Springs since 1995. Additional speakers scheduled are Dr. Bill Viser, Jeff Dial, Mike Prince, Sean Culpepper, Daniel Bramlett, and Dr. Wyman Richardson.
The conference will feature various breakout sessions including Confessional Discipleship; Avoiding Pastoral Burnout; Strategies for Facing Spiritual Warfare; Getting into the Gutter; Unresolved Anger in Broken Lives; and The Fast I Choose.
Worship will be led by Cross Church Worship.
The registration fee, which includes lunch and all materials, is $15. For more information, visit arkansasfamilies.org/shepherds-conference.
