SHERWOOD, Ark. – Ten people put their trust in Jesus on Saturday, Aug. 26, during a medical-dental clinic in Sherwood.
The Arkansas Baptist State Convention (ABSC) Missions Team partnered with Fresh Start Community Church to host the clinic. Fresh Start Community Church is an ABSC church plant sponsored by First Baptist Church in Sherwood, where the clinic was held.
The church also provided an outdoor block party and free backpacks filled with supplies for children. Several volunteers assisted with the event.
“Although patient numbers were lower than expected, 10 people trusted Jesus as Savior!” ABSC Missions Team Leader Sam Roberts said in a Facebook post.
Medical-dental clinics serve as an avenue for the local church to meet needs and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The medical-dental clinics around the state this year have seen several come to Christ. On July 15, nine people gave their life to Christ during an event at Watson Chapel Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
On June 24, more than 20 accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior during the clinic hosted at the Olive Street campus of First Baptist Church in Rogers. Earlier in June, during a clinic in Oden hosted by the churches of the Caddo River Baptist Association, the team saw 37 patients, two of whom gave their lives to Christ.
During a medical-dental clinic on April 29 at Iglesia Bautista Roca Fuerte (Strong Rock Baptist Church) in Little Rock there were 28 professions of faith.
The next medical-dental clinic is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9, at West View Baptist Church in Paragould. These clinics are provided free through the generous giving of ABSC churches to the Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions Offering. This year’s Week of Prayer is Sept.10-17.
