SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – More than 500 salvations were reported over nine weeks of camp this summer at Camp Siloam.
“It was an amazing summer. God showed out,” Director of Camps Scott Maxwell said.
Approximately 7,140 campers spent a week of their summer at Camp Siloam. Maxwell said that was the highest number of campers they have had in at least the past 25 years. After COVID, in 2021, Maxwell said they had about 4,200 campers return. In just three years, they’ve grown by almost 3,000.
“To me, that just feels like churches trust us. They trust what’s happening and want to bring campers. We’re going to continue to use this place for glory,” Maxwell said.
Over the summer, 599 salvations were reported. Ninety-eight campers expressed a desire to explore a call ministry.
“That number represents a camper whose life was changed,” Maxwell said. “Our job at camp is to provide the programming and to do it in a way so that a camper can see and hear Jesus a little bit clearer while they are here.”
Maxwell touted the summer staff and how God used them to impact the Kingdom.
“We’re fortunate to get to partner with some amazing college students who love the Lord and just desire to serve,” he said. “God used them and our speakers.”
Camp Siloam Executive Director Jeff Dial said the summer “is indicative of the historical work of Christ in the state of Arkansas.”
“God continues to save and move in students and their leaders lives because of the leadership that God has placed here, and I am very honored to work with these men and women. 1 Timothy 1:5 continues to be our biblical inspiration for doing what Camp Siloam does,” Dial said.
While summer camp has wrapped up at Camp Siloam, the action doesn’t stop there. Camp Siloam, which celebrated its centennial in 2023, hosts multiple weeks of summer camp during which the Gospel of Jesus is shared with thousands of campers. During the fall, winter and spring, the camp staff hosts youth retreats and rents the camp to groups for retreats.
Camp Siloam’s Replicate retreat is scheduled for Sept. 20-22.
