Resources available as churches promote Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions Offering

Acts 4:20 says, “As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

That is the theme for this year’s Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions Offering (DJAMO) and Week of Prayer. Peter and John were commanded to stop talking about Jesus. They were threatened with imprisonment and death. But they had seen Jesus do so many great things that they said they could not stop talking about what they have seen and heard.

“This year we are asking Arkansas Baptists not to stop talking but to start talking about everything that God is doing through the ministries of the Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions Offering,” Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions Offering Project Coordinator Travis McCormick previously said.

From disaster relief and community outreach to missions discipleship and more, DJAMO equips Arkansas Baptists to go, serve, and share the hope of Jesus with those who need Him most.

In August, the Arkansas Baptist State Convention (ABSC) mailed a packet that included prayer guides, envelopes, posters, and buttons to Arkansas Baptist churches to use to promote the annual offering.

New this year, in addition to the packet sent to each Arkansas Baptist church, a mailer was sent to various church staff and lay leaders in an effort to increase awareness of Dixie Jackson state missions.  The mailer featured four stories of Arkansas Baptists – Laura Bramlett, Jim Lagrone, Hannah Zirbel, and Sandra Valdez – sharing how they have seen and heard the impact of DJAMO.

Among DJAMO resources available for churches are two videos. One is about 2 minutes, and the other is 5 minutes. Both videos highlight how vital the Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions Offering has been in changing lives. As the Dixie Jackson Week of Prayer approaches, churches are encouraged to play either one of the videos for their congregation during their worship services.

Though the 2025 Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions Offering and Week of Prayer is Sept. 14-21, churches may choose another week that fits their calendar to designate to pray for missions in Arkansas.

As churches work on their campaigns for the Dixie Jackson Arkansas Missions Offering, they can find resources at absc.org/dj.  Additionally, churches can contact Chrissy King at [email protected] or 501-376-4791 ext:5137.
