“Everything about the mission work is accomplished primarily because God is at work and moving in His people,” said Cliff Case, an International Mission Board (IMB) missionary who serves alongside his wife, Cinthy, in Santiago, Chile.

“And because His people seek Him, they pray for His work and give because He moves them to give,” he continued. “As IMB missionaries, we know and feel the prayer support of Southern Baptists. We share requests, they pray and we witness His work. We feel and know the support of Southern Baptist churches in Arkansas.”

Cliff and Cinthy have always known and felt the strong support through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering (LMCO) and the Cooperative Program (CP) giving.

“It touches every area of our lives. The car we drive and the home we live in belong to Southern Baptist churches. And we can continue to minister here because that need is met,” Cliff said.

Cliff’s ministry is church planting and sports evangelism which also encompasses children’s and youth camps and sports ministry training with churches in Chile. The Bibles and tracts that they use in evangelism and training are available thanks to LMCO and the Cooperative Program.

“The discipleship materials and sports evangelism booklets I print off are purchased by the LMCO and CP giving. The laptop and phones we use are paid for by Southern Baptists. We are an extension of Southern Baptist churches in Arkansas,” he said. “We deeply appreciate Arkansas Baptists for sustaining us as we serve the Lord in Chile. We could not do ministry here without you.”

During the Christmas season, Cliff and Cinthy said they have multiple opportunities to share Christ with the community. Below are a few ways Arkansas Baptists can help pray as Cliff and Cinthy continue God’s work in Chile.

  • Pray for the La Dehesa church as it reaches out to 25 children in vulnerable situations and their families that live in the La Dehesa area. Pray that God’s love will pour out from the church members to the lost.
  • Pray for the Parque Apoquindo church as it does a live Bethlehem village and manger scene to share the Gospel on Dec 18-20.
  • January and February are our summer months. We have camps going on all throughout the country. There are kids’ camps, youth camps, pastors’ camps, and family camps. I am involved in a few of these. Pray for the kids and youth who will attend these camps. Pray that they will come to know Jesus if they don’t know Him.
  • Pray for the Chilean Baptist leadership and IMB missionaries who are working in these camps. That God will use them for His glory and the tell the Good News.
  • Pray for the Alpha Bible study group as they sing carols and minister at the police hospital in the community of Ñuñoa on Dec. 21 in the afternoon.
  • Pray for the new mothers and babies, and the kids in the children’s ward that they will hear the message of the Gospel.
