Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief officially launched its virtual training sessions Monday, August 3. Chainsaw, Flood Recovery, Feeding, Shower/Laundry, and more are now available online for those who want to become an official volunteer and those who need to recertify. This is the kind of high-quality content you’d expect at a typical training event in the comfort of your own home. It only takes around an hour to complete each course.
To become a member of a Disaster Relief Team in your area, training is required. You must be 18-years old to train and be a member of a Southern Baptist Church. Payment is done online and costs $20 for new volunteers and for those that are updating their credentials. If you are interested in cross training in other areas you will need to email Keturah Quimby at [email protected].
Background checks will also be done virtually. You’ll sign all the paperwork, digitally, and send them to Keturah where they will be processed. Once all of that is complete, official IDs will be mailed to you.
Disaster Relief was forced to cancel the rest of their in-person training events due to COVID-19 and will likely not be able to return to in-person events until 2021. The virtual training will be available through December pending COVID information for 2021, so don’t wait.
Whether you’ve been thinking about becoming a volunteer, need to recertify, or would like to get certified in another area – train today to become an official volunteer with Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief.
