ABSC to offer three VBS and Kids Ministry training events

Vacation Bible School (VBS) was largely affected in 2020 by COVID-19. Some churches were able to hold VBS with enhanced safety protocols, while others had to drastically adapt or cancel VBS. As vaccines are distributed and guidelines are adjusted, the possibility of hosting VBS in 2021 seems to be increasing.

In order to help churches prepare for their VBS, the Arkansas Baptist State Convention (ABSC) has announced three VBS & Kids Ministry training events to equip VBS and Kids Ministry leaders to plan for summer events. Additionally, this training has been designed to serve churches who are preparing to host the 2021 theme “Destination Dig,” as well as offering non-theme related sessions for churches using different materials.

The training events will be offered in three different locations across Arkansas and will cover the same content at each training. On April 12, a training event will be offered at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville. On April 19, a training event will be offered at Nettleton Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Finally, on April 24, a training event will be offered at Indian Springs Baptist Church in Bryant. You can find more information and register for these events at absc.org/vbs.
This training event is designed for and will equip Kids Ministry leaders, VBS directors, leadership teams, pastors, church staff members, and volunteers who serve in VBS or kid’s ministry. If you are unable to attend one of the training events, you can access additional videos and resources on the webpage, absc.org/vbs.
