First Baptist Church of Talihina, Oklahoma is a welcoming congregation committed to glorifying God through spreading the gospel, discipleship, and service. Talihina is located in beautiful Southeastern Oklahoma surrounded by the Ouachita Mountains and National Forest. We are seeking a Senior Pastor who is called by God to provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care. We believe that God has already prepared his man to be our next senior pastor, and we as a church are preparing ourselves to meet God’s choice to lead our congregation into the future.
Our next pastor will lead from the pulpit with sound Biblical teaching. He will lead our church in development and implementation of a clear, forward-looking vision for our church, as well as the following:
Evangelism: Sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ and inviting people into a personal relationship with Jesus.
Worship: Promoting an atmosphere of worship where members feel free to express genuine and heartfelt love and devotion to our Heavenly Father.
Community Impact: Leading and participating in community outreach initiatives that reflect our church’s vision and commitment to serving others and sharing God’s love in practical and impactful ways.
Discipleship: Promoting a culture of discipleship within our congregation, encouraging members to engage in programs within the church tailored to allow members to experience a deeper walk with our Lord.
Pastoral Care: Providing, alongside our deacons, empathetic and supportive care during times of crisis, illness, and bereavement.
Missions: Promoting and supporting missions that emphasize local, regional, and global missions.
Administration: Overseeing the administration of our church, including staff, budgeting, and church operations in collaboration with our deacons and other leadership teams.
Qualifications:
- Ordained and in good standing with the Southern Baptist Convention.
- A strong commitment to the doctrinal beliefs and practices of the Southern Baptist Faith.
- Must meet the Biblical qualifications of a pastor found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-5.
