On Saturday May 4, the Missions Team of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention hosted its annual Man UP! men and boys missions discipleship event at Spring Lake Camp and Retreat in Lonsdale. Approximately 100 men and boys from around the state gathered for a day of fun, fellowship and worship planned just for guys.
Participants spent three hours enjoying the various activities, hanging out and building relationships. Activities included fishing, archery tag, cornhole, bucket golf, Kubb and watching the Razorback baseball game.
Following an afternoon of activities and fellowship, the group gathered in the cafeteria for a meal of gumbo or chicken tenders.
After dinner, a time of worship was led by Jeremy Prine who serves as worship and student pastor at Southside Baptist Church in Stuttgart. Chris Russell, pastor of Second Baptist Church in Russellville challenged the men and boys to be the fishers of men that God has called and commanded them to be.
At the end of the day, at least seven boys and men made the decision to become followers of Jesus! It was an incredible ending to a momentous day.
Gather a group of men and boys from your church and make plans to join us on the first Saturday in May 2025 as we come together to share conversation, fellowship through recreation, and learn how to use our interests to build relationships, share the Gospel and make disciples who make disciples.
