Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief (ABDR) is gearing up to deploy to Morgan City, Louisiana, to aid in the aftermath of Hurricane Francine.
The hurricane slammed into the Louisiana coast Wednesday evening as a dangerous Category 2 storm, knocking out electricity to hundreds of thousands of people and threatening widespread flooding as it sent a storm surge rushing inland along the Gulf Coast.
ABDR will be partnering with Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief to aid efforts in Morgan City, about 30 miles northwest of where Francine crashed ashore in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana.
Pray for those impacted by the storm and those who are meeting and preparing to meet needs. The situation is evolving moment by moment.
ABDR typically spends approximately $2,000 per day when responding to out of state disasters. People interested in helping deliver help, hope, and healing of Jesus Christ by supporting ABDR financially, can do so here. One hundred percent of the gifts given go directly to disaster relief ministry.

Through Sunday, the National Hurricane Center reported Francine would continue bringing the threat of heavy rainfall and tornadoes to portions of the Mississippi Delta, Alabama, western Georgia and the Florida Panhandle.
