Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief deploys to Hot Springs

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief (ABDR) is deploying to Hot Springs in the wake of Tuesday night’s storms.

ABDR Director Randy Garrett said assessors are on site and feeding teams are enroute. Incident command will be set up at First Baptist Church in Hot Springs. The deployment includes the Balboa, Crossgate and Indian Springs recovery teams. Garrett said more teams will come online if needed.

Local television stations are reporting that the tornado that tore through Hot Springs overnight looks to be an EF-2.

Additionally, ABDR has a feeding team at a Salvation Army warehouse in Houston, Texas, aiding the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.

Last week, ABDR deployed teams to Morris, Oklahoma, following the potent April storm system. The Oklahoma teams have since returned home.

Please continue to pray for those impacted as they navigate the days ahead and all Disaster Relief volunteers.
