Arkansas Baptists invited to ABDR regional training

Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief (ABDR) has an upcoming training scheduled for March 15 at Nettleton Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

The training provides an opportunity to see the fellowship of Disaster Relief and learn what Disaster Relief is all about.

ABDR extends the love of Christ to disaster survivors by preparing hot meals, removing damaging trees and debris, tarping roofs, shoveling mud, providing emergency communications, and coordinating the response through Incident Command leadership.  Following a common ministry pattern of Jesus Christ, Disaster Relief chaplains and volunteers seek to share God’s grace, hope, and truth while meeting physical needs. Disaster Relief is a ministry of the heart – caring people going to people in crisis to offer the help, healing, and hope of Jesus Christ.

The March 15 training is one of four regional training events held throughout the state each year. Future training events are:

  • April 26 at Central Baptist Church in North Little Rock
  • Aug. 9 at New Life Baptist Church in Alexander
  • Sept. 6 at First Baptist Church – Olive St. in Rogers
