Baptists aid Turkey, Syria through Send Relief

Send Relief local partners began distributing water, food and other emergency supplies within hours of the disaster.

More than 36,000 people have been reported dead and tens of thousands more injured following the devastating earthquake on Feb. 6 that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria.

Arkansas Baptists are searching for ways to aid those who have been impacted.

One way they can help is through Send Relief, a compassion ministry of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Send Relief is working with local partners and churches in Syria and Turkey to respond to critical needs.

People can also give through Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief. The disaster relief team is working with a partner in Turkey to provide water purification and humanitarian assistance. Volunteers from Missouri will be working with a local faith-based organization to care for people in need.

Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief Director Gaylon Moss requested prayer for those affected to receive physical and spiritual help and for the partners and volunteers to be a light in the darkness as they deliver aid.
