It’s Holy Week and Arkansas Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) across the state are orchestrating Easter outreach events on campus.

On Palm Sunday, Arkansas State University (ASU) BCM kicked off by chalking the Gospel of John across the university’s campus. They’ve continued with various events throughout the week, including a dunk tank during which Campus Minister Tyler Hoffpauir said they had 104 spiritual surveys, 48 Gospel presentations, and four salvations.

On the other side of the state, University of Arkansas Fort Smith (UAFS) BCM partnered with four other campus ministries in an outreach effort at UAFS called “Jesus Week.” Each day, they have intentional events or activities to promote Gospel conversations on campus. For instance, they chalked a sidewalk with various phrases, such as “Hail Christ the King!” and “Lamb of God.” On one section of sidewalk, they drew a circle and wrote, “Stand here. We prayed for you.”

UAFS Campus Minister Luke Dawson said Wednesday was a big day. It was freshman preview day, and they were able to make over 100 contacts with incoming freshman. Additionally, several of their student leaders went on campus to prayer walk and share the Gospel. While on campus, they made a second contact with a student they met on a shuttle during Beach Reach.

They’re also having a joint worship service on campus Thursday evening. “I can’t wait to see what God does,” Dawson said.

ASU and UAFS are just two examples of Arkansas BCMs engaging their campuses during Holy Week.
