SHERIDAN – Ann Gunn Clark celebrated her retirement from First Baptist Church, Sheridan, Dec. 8. Clark has served on staff since 1983.
“Ann has been indispensable to our church for many years,” said Marla Moore, director of communications for First Baptist Sheridan. “Obviously, we wish her well on her retirement, but she will be greatly missed.”
Clark, a lifetime member of First Baptist Sheridan, has provided the continuity needed in the office as the church has gone through many changes including a building campaign and relocation, technology updates and several pastoral changes. She has served under five different pastors and several interim pastors during her over three-decade tenure.
Clark plans to continue to attend First Baptist Sheridan after she retires at the end of 2019. She also plans to spend more time with her grandchildren, traveling and researching her family genealogy.
“I’ve been overwhelmed by the love shown to me by the church at my retirement,” said Clark. “This has been more than a job for me through the years. This church has been like a family, and I will miss seeing my coworkers on a daily basis.”
Clark’s successor will be Nikki Saunders, a 2012 graduate of Arkansas Tech University with a degree in accounting and economics/finances.
