Conference geared toward encouraging, equipping worship ministry leaders

CABOT, Ark. – Worship leaders, musicians, and media teams from across the state are invited Saturday, Feb. 21, to First Baptist Church in Cabot for the Arkansas Baptist Worship Conference, a one-day event designed to encourage and equip those serving in worship ministry.

“This worship conference is geared for your church,” said Jim Daniel, music & worship strategist at Arkansas Baptists. “Bring your team—your vocalists, your instrumentalists, your A/V, your support and production crew—because there’s going to be something offered for everyone.”

Jeff Stotts, worship pastor at Wynne Baptist Church, emphasized that the conference is designed for congregations of all sizes and styles. “What I love about how this conference is put together is that it’s for all churches, all sizes,” he said. “I’m looking forward to bringing my team.”

The day will feature inspiring worship, dynamic speakers, fellowship opportunities, and targeted breakout sessions for vocalists, instrumentalists, tech teams, and much more.

Chris Pittman, worship and media pastor at First Baptist Church in Harrison, said the conference provides a rare opportunity for collaboration and growth. “These types of events are places where people who want to get better at what they love doing get to come together, find experts in different areas, and learn more about this craft, this trade, and this calling,” Pittman said.

Among the breakout session leaders is Greg Childress, worship pastor at Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Conway, who will lead a session on the ministry of the worship-leading choir. “Whether you’re talking about a choir of four or 400, we’re going to look at the biblical model of the choir,” Childress said. “We’ll also cover practical things like recruiting, training, rehearsing, building relationships, and using the choir as a discipleship tool in the church.”

The keynote speaker for the conference is John Bolin, an instructor at California Baptist University and a nationally recognized worship leader and songwriter. Bolin previously served in worship ministry at Kingsland Baptist Church and Houston’s First Baptist Church and now works with churches nationwide through John Bolin Ministries. He is widely known for his work in choirs in worship, multigenerational worship, and family worship.

The conference will take place from  8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include lunch and light refreshments. Registration is currently open. The cost is $50 per person, with registration available through Feb. 17.

Organizers say the Arkansas Baptist Worship Conference is intended to provide encouragement, training, and connection for those serving faithfully in worship ministries across the state.
