“It is like we are speaking the same language but using a completely different dictionary.”
That is what it is like planting a church among 14,000 people, of whom 70% are Mormon and less than 2% are Christian. Add to this the fact that few outsiders stay past their first winter, and it is easy to see why Evanston is the most unchurched place in Wyoming.
Aaron, Angela, and their four young kids moved to Evanston from Arkansas in June 2020, but five years ago a few families had already moved there from other places hoping to be a part of a future church plant. Others had been praying for a church plant there for over 20 years. Aaron says, “We are just jumping into what God was already wanting to do here.”
These families have become instrumental to their core team, which began meeting in November 2020. But they know it will take a consistent presence and a servant’s heart to faithfully proclaim the truth in love to so many who are disenfranchised with religion yet also entrenched in false teachings.
PRAYER POINTS: Let’s pray that God would lead them and summer teams to people of peace who will be relational influencers for the Gospel. Let’s also pray for the Leggett family to remain faithful, adjust well, and thrive spiritually.
When you give to your church, you give to missions through the Cooperative Program, bringing the Good News to the whole world. Find more CP resources at ABSC.org/CPShare.

Praying for this family, their church and all who work with them to reach this area for Jesus. This is my prayer every day. I also thank God for their faithfulness and pray His protection on each one. “Our God is able…” Ephesians 3:20
