ECON scheduled Jan. 26-27 at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. –Arkansas Baptists are invited to gather Jan. 26-27 at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in Little Rock for the annual Arkansas Baptist Statewide Evangelism Conference (ECON).

This free, two-day gathering will feature powerful worship, dynamic speakers, and practical breakout sessions designed for a variety of ministries.

“We’re hoping that it will be a great time of learning and fellowshipping, worshipping together and encouraging one another,” Evangelism + Church Health Team Leader Warren Gasaway said. “We have a great lineup of guest speakers who are going to lead us in practical conversations about evangelism. God wants to reach a broken and lost world, and He wants to use us to do it.”

Speakers for the event are:

  • Mark Hallock, who serves as the lead pastor of Calvary Church in Englewood, Colorado. He also serves as president of the Calvary Family of Churches, a family of churches committed to planting and revitalizing churches for the glory of God.
  • Ben Mandrell, whohas devoted his life to preaching the gospel, developing leaders, and strengthening the local church. In 2019, Mandrell became president and CEO of Lifeway Christian Resources, leading the organization through a season of significant transition. Most recently, he returned to pastoral ministry as senior pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee.
  • Mark Mittelberg, who is a bestselling author, international speaker, and the executive director of The Lee Strobel Center for Evangelism and Applied Apologetics at Colorado Christian University, where he helps equip believers through accredited degree programs and training resources.
  • Levi Skipper, who serves as the pastor of Sagemont Church in Houston, Texas. Prior to his role at Sagemont, Skipper served as the vice president of Church Strengthening for the Georgia Baptist Mission Board, where he developed strategies to mobilize churches in evangelism and leadership development.

On Monday, there will be a pre-con workshop at 10 a.m. focused on church revitalization led by Hallock. The first ECON session with Skipper, Mandrell, and Hallock will begin at 1 p.m. The second session will begin at 7 p.m. with Mittelberg.

Tuesday morning will begin with a light breakfast, followed by an interview between ABSC Executive Director Dr. Mark Dance and Mandrell at 9:30 a.m. The day will wrap up with the breakout sessions from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

No registration is needed to attend ECON, but Tuesday workshops do require advance registration. For more information or to register, click here.

“God always sets aside the evangelism conference as a time for us to enjoy one another but more importantly enjoy His presence. Let’s come together at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church on Jan. 26-27 to be sent out,” Gasaway said.
