Fort Smith women’s conference draws many for day of worship, teaching, and testimony

FORT SMITH, Ark. — What unfolded at this year’s Women’s Conference: Our Story, His Glory proved to be more than a scheduled gathering. For many in attendance, it became a deeply moving spiritual encounter and a striking display of unity among churches across the River Valley and beyond.

On Nov. 15, East Side Baptist Church hosted the event, welcoming hundreds of women representing more than 45 congregations. Attendees spent the day hearing messages of encouragement and spiritual growth led by Lifeway author and speaker Elizabeth Woodson.

Woodson centered her keynote sessions on Joshua 1:1–9, urging believers to persevere in their faith and to trust in God’s sovereign care. Between sessions, participants shared lunch and chose from 11 breakout groups, where local women offered personal testimonies of God’s faithfulness. Account after account of provision, deliverance, comfort, and transformation moved many to tears.

The church’s worship band guided the congregation in times of singing throughout the day, culminating in a closing moment that saw nearly 300 women joining their voices in “Glory to His Name.” Organizers say the worship was intended not only to celebrate the conference’s conclusion but also to encourage women to continue praising God in their daily lives.

“God was glorified from start to finish, and my cup is overflowing from all I was encouraged with and learned,” one attendee said.

Event leaders noted that this response reflects their hope from the outset—that women would leave strengthened in their faith and eager to share the message of Jesus within their homes, churches, and communities.
