Arkansas Hispanic WMU and Iglesia Bautist Neuva Jerusalén in Little Rock recently partnered together to provide a student missions event for Arkansas Baptist Hispanic churches. Diana Rodriguez is president of Arkansas Hispanic WMU and Pastor Abel Martinez is pastor of Iglesia Bautista Neuva Jerusalén. More than 90 students and leaders from seven ABSC Hispanic churches participated in the one-day event on Saturday, July 29.
The students were challenged to give their all to Jesus — to put Him first place in their lives by obeying Him, saying yes to His plan for their lives, and being obedient to His call to share the Gospel wherever He leads.
Julia Baird, IMB student missions mobilizer and Annel Robayna, IMB’s Hispanic church mobilization strategist, shared their missions story with the students and leaders. They presented tools for sharing Jesus with family members, friends, and co-workers. They also encouraged the students to use their creativity in presenting Jesus through storytelling, songs, drama, and sharing their personal testimonies.
Bro. Annel closed the day‘s event by asking the students to make decisions — giving their lives to Jesus, growing through discipleship, and following Jesus in missions. Four students gave their lives to Christ and ten others stood indicating their commitment to follow Jesus as Peter, Andrew, James and John did.
