Josh Kimbrell announced as Camp Siloam executive director

There is a new executive director at Camp Siloam.

Camp Siloam Board of Trustees Chair Bobby Clark made the announcement Tuesday during the Arkansas Baptist State Convention (ABSC) 2025 Annual Meeting. Josh Kimbrell, who has served the last three years on staff at Camp Siloam in other roles, has taken on the position.

Kimbrell graduated in 2011 from the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith (UAFS) with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. During his time at UAFS, Kimbrell met his wife Devin at the Baptist Collegiate Ministry. They have been married since 2010 and have two daughters, Naomi and Caroline, and one son, Wyatt.

Kimbrell obtained a master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2018. Prior to coming to Camp Siloam three years ago, Kimbrell served in children and student ministry at churches in Arkansas.

“Camp Siloam is near and dear to my heart, but Arkansas Baptists are near and dear to my heart as well. I am a product of Arkansas Baptists and their commitment to the gospel ministry of Jesus Christ,” Kimbrell said.

Kimbrell grew up attending First Baptist Church in Booneville, where he was saved, called to ministry, licensed and ordained, and sent out. His first time attending Camp Siloam was in 2007 while serving as children’s director for the summer at the church.

“I’d never been to Camp Siloam before, didn’t know what I was getting into,” he said. “What I saw at Camp Siloam was that the gospel message was essential in everything that we did. It was all about Jesus. That was my first taste of Siloam.”

From then on, Kimbrell was hooked. He spent the next few years serving at a local church and would bring the kids to Camp Siloam. He served as a Camp Siloam summer chaperone in 2011.

“I knew if I could get a lost kid to Camp Siloam, they were going to encounter Jesus while they were there. … and go back home changed,” Kimbrell said. “It’s almost a full circle moment for me being able to come and serve on staff the last three years at camp in various roles and now I have the privilege to serve as executive director.”

This past summer, Kimbrell said they saw the “Lord do amazing things.”

He shared they welcomed 7,292 guests and 250 churches from six states – Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Mississippi, Kansas, and Texas. He reported 507 salvations, 174 recommitments, 146 interested in baptism, and 96 called to ministry.

Camp Siloam registration for 2026 opens Nov. 3. For more information, visit campsiloam.com.
