A camp called Siloam is a place where God and people meet and experience salvation, discipleship, and a call to serve Jesus Christ! Camp Siloam is a place in which God saved 599 people and over 7,000 people attended this past summer. Camp Siloam is a place in which both its name and the name of the town means “sent”! Camp Siloam is the place I find myself serving as the executive director and treasurer. Camp Siloam is a place that fifteen full time servants get to serve by fulfilling their call to Jesus Christ. Camp Siloam is a place where Jesus Christ is changing lives including mine.
I Timothy 1:5: “The goal of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.”
A pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith enables God’s love to save, disciple and call into ministry. Camp Siloam is a place of “love.” This love comes directly from God through Jesus Christ and is experienced through the working of the Holy Spirit in people of all ages. The Holy Spirit of God will work through each “Siloamer,” from the children, students, the leaders, staff, and the trustees!
A hundred and one years have now come and gone since people first encountered God on these hallowed grounds. Arkansas Baptists have been joined by other states in these United States to serve Jesus Christ in Siloam Springs Arkansas. The Cooperative Program is still working, especially for those 599 people saved this summer and the others that will be saved and have been saved in the retreats and opportunities of camp. Thank you, Arkansas Baptists, for holding fast to the Word of God, for giving God’s money back to Him in your church, and for being Cooperative Program givers.
A prayer a day for a camp called Siloam could and would change the world for Jesus Christ.
