We are grateful for the opportunity to continue to SERVE Arkansas Baptist churches and ministries, ADVISE in areas where our staff are gifted and equipped, and ENCOURAGE stewardship both corporately and personally…all for GOD’s glory! Join us for the Arkansas Baptist Foundation’s 75th Anniversary reception at the Arkansas Baptist State Convention Annual Meeting in the foyer at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 22nd following the last session.
Jay Shell, 2024 ABF board chairman board member since 1993 shared the following.
As a long-time Board member, I have been blessed to see exciting growth and change at the ABF over the years. In the early 1990s, our biggest challenge was letting people know about the Foundation, who we are, and what we do. We struggled in those days with stepping out of the shadows of anonymity to realize our goal of becoming a go-to source of relevant guidance in the lives of Arkansas Baptists, their churches, agencies, institutions, and ministries.
Fast forward 30 years and the ABF’s mission to serve, advise, and encourage Arkansas Baptists has become a daily happening. ABF is touching many, many lives and its leadership has input into almost every significant decision being made by convention leadership and its agencies and institutions. When we reoriented the ABF’s message a few years ago to celebrate the distribution of assets to ministry rather than celebrate assets under management, God began to bless both far beyond anything we had ever seen before.
As we celebrate the ABF’s 75th anniversary, I invite you to connect with the ABF and find out what the excitement is about. Whether you need personal assistance with charitable contributions to Baptist causes, your church needs help with its back office and accounting functions, you’re looking at scholarships for your student’s college education, or anything in between, be sure to consider how the Arkansas Baptist Foundation can serve, advise, and encourage you. To God be the glory!
