The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has brought significant changes to most industries in Arkansas. That is certainly the case for Arkansas Baptists’ educational institutions – Ouachita Baptist University (OBU)and Williams Baptist University (WBU). The pandemic situation required altering the end of their Spring 2020 semester.
Now, these two ABSC universities are working through the effects that the pandemic will have on the upcoming semester this fall. This is a key season for Arkansas Baptists to pray for the leadership as they plan and prepare.
During the 2019 Annual Meeting of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, ABSC Director Dr. J.D. “Sonny” Tucker led a discussion with Dr. Ben Sells of OBU and Dr. Stan Norman of WBU. This discussion gave a chance for both university presidents to discuss the vital importance of Christian education and these ABSC universities. This discussion is particularly relevant in understanding their needs as they move forward in these trying times and their importance to ABSC life. The video of this discussion is linked here.
