The Arkansas Baptist State Convention (ABSC) Annual Meeting this year will be held at Walnut Street Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
On Tuesday, July 11, the Executive Board voted to move the location of the 2023 ABSC Annual Meeting from Nettleton Baptist Church in Jonesboro to Walnut Street Baptist Church. Nettleton is entering an extensive and long-awaited renovation which would have reduced the usable space during the event.
“We always enjoy coming to Jonesboro for our annual meeting of the ABSC. There are so many great churches in this part of the state. When Nettleton Baptist Church’s construction timeline changed, we were in a dilemma. How could we adjust in a short timeframe? Without hesitation, Pastor Grey Falanga and the Walnut Street Baptist Church graciously offered to host us,” ABSC President Larry White said. “It’s a win-win. We get to stay in Jonesboro this year, and we will look forward to returning one day to Nettleton. This was another example of Arkansas Baptists working well together.”
Falanga, who serves as president of the 2023 ABSC Pastors’ Conference scheduled for Oct. 23, said they are “excited to host folks from around the state” and help however and whenever they can.
The 170th Annual Meeting of the ABSC is scheduled for Oct. 24-25. For more information, click here.
