BATESVILLE, Ark. – West Baptist Church of Batesville hosted a No Sale Yard Sale on Monday, July 28.

Preparation began months ahead with church and local volunteers collecting items to be given away in the No Sale Yard Sale. The church’s missions team and volunteers washed, folded, and set up tables, displays, and racks full of men, women, and children’s new and gently used clothing items.

During the event, attendees could get at least three sets of clothing for their family. Pastor Alan Brown said they were able to talk with many of the people and have Gospel conversations.

“The great thing was seeing our people young and mature come up and help, bring food, fold clothes and work in this mission outreach. This is one of several mission projects that we are doing in our community this year,” Brown said.

Other missions outreach events include Friday Friends and Lunch Buddies during the school year. Additionally, the church facilitates Thankful Thursdays – a summer ministry in the splash park where they give out popsicles and water and play games with the kids and their parents in the park from 10 a.m. to noon.

“We share the love of Jesus and the Gospel any opportunity we have,” Brown said.

The church has also hosted a block party and revival and taken to the neighborhood for door-to-door evangelism. Furthermore, West Baptist Church partnered with Abundant Life Baptist Church of Helena for a one-day mission outreach.

“We are looking at several other mission outreach ministries for the coming year. Here at West Baptist, we have had a total of six saved and baptized with three more being discipled and with a total of 40 other additions since January of 2024,” Brown said.

“I’m so proud of the vision, mission mindedness and willingness of our people to love and reach out to the people of Westside Batesville and wherever God moves us. Two years ago, this mission adventure God called me and my wife to come to was very scary and with many challenges but, wow, has God come through in amazing ways. I’m so blessed to be the pastor of such a great church as West Baptist Church of Batesville where Jesus is being lifted up and the church is being edified day by day.”
