WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – Over 70 alumni members of the Williams Singers returned to Williams Baptist University (WBU) Saturday, Nov. 6 to perform and honor the career of Dr. Bob Magee as part of its homecoming celebration.
Dr. Magee has served as the director of the Williams Singers for 36 years and has touched the lives of many of his students in the process. Many returned Saturday for the explicit purpose of thanking the man that guided them through their college years and to perform under his direction one more time.
A celebration of Dr. Magee’s career had been planned for the 2020 homecoming festivities, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions those plans were put on hold.
This year the school celebrated Dr. Magee’s 35 years + one with words of recognition and gratitude from WBU president Dr. Stan Norman following the performances at Manley Chapel Saturday afternoon.
Afterward many of Dr. Magee’s former students took photos and offered words of congratulations and gratefulness to a man who had touched so many of their lives.
