BENTON, Ark. – Women Equipped, the Christian Women’s Job Corps (CWJC) site in Benton, was recently awarded a $2,000 CWJC Site Grant by the Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) Foundation.

A compassion ministry of WMU, CWJC is geared toward “equipping women for life in a Christian context through career focused classes, Bible study and building meaningful relationships.”

According to the Christian Job Corps website, CWJC Site Grants benefit certified sites that “have shown great commitment and alignment with the overall goals and mission of national CWJC.” Funds from this grant are not restricted, and CWJC sites can use funds for any area of their programming, development, overhead, salaries, etc.

Susie Everett, lead Christian Women’s Job Corps coordinator at the Women Equipped site, said the grant will go toward paying the salary of their site administrator, Kathy Fogarty.

“We’re excited. We’re so happy to have a part-time employee … and this money will go toward her salary,” Everett said. “I’m thrilled that this will help us out. It can go to any operations need, but we feel like that’s our biggest.”

Women Equipped, housed at First Baptist Church in Benton, is one of four Arkansas Christian Women’s Job Corps sites. For more information on CWJC in Arkansas, visit https://www.absc.org/ministries/by-team/cwjc.
