Master’Singers honor Larry Grayson at March 31 Concert

CABOT, Ark. – On Thursday, March 31, the Master’Singers gathered for their second concert of 2022 at First Baptist Church in Cabot. There were 185 registered singers and orchestra members scheduled to gather on the stage.

Back in the early part of 2020, shows were cancelled due to the pandemic and many honors that would have taken place weren’t able to. Every year the Master’Singers give a man and a woman, the Ruth Nininger and Ervin Keathley award for an ‘Outstanding Contribution to Church Music in Arkansas.’ Since they hadn’t had them in the last two years, The Ruth Nininger award went to Shelia Moore. The Ervin Keathley award went to Larry Grayson.

Larry

Grayson is the former Worship Consultant at the Arkansas Baptist State Convention and former conductor for Master’Singers. Grayson announced his retirement in late 2019, but due to the cancellations in 2020 a proper retirement celebration couldn’t take place. However, the Master’Singers and new Worship Consultant and conductor, Jim Daniels, decided to honor him at this concert by giving him the award and letting him conduct his favorite song ‘See Him Face to Face’ to end the night.
