INDIANAPOLIS– Mollie Duddleston of Cross Church in Northwest Arkansas was elected to serve a second term as chairperson of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC)’s Committee on Convention Missions and Ministry.
Duddleston has served as chairperson of this committee, comprised of approximately 20 SBC Executive Committee trustees from across the country, since September. She has served as a trustee of the Executive Committee since 2021. According to the SBC website, the Executive Committee is comprised of 86 representatives chosen from qualified states and regions and acts on behalf of the Convention between sessions.
“The role of the Missions and Ministry Committee is to take referrals of the messengers and to, essentially, come to a conclusion on behalf of the messengers as it relates to the constitution and the bylaws of the Southern Baptist Convention,” Duddleston said.
“I am so privileged to lead this committee. It’s my privilege to serve Cross Church and to serve the state of Arkansas.”
Duddleston has been married to her husband, Jim, for 35 years. They have three children. She serves as director of Ministry Operations and Women’s Ministry at Cross Church and serves in various capacities with Arkansas Baptist women’s ministry across the state.
Duddleston was reelected during a meeting of the Executive Committee on Monday, June 10. She was one of three Executive Committee subcommittee chairs to be reelected. Others were Carolyn Fountain as chair of the Committee on Convention Events and Strategic Planning and Adam Wyatt as chair of the Committee on Convention Finances and Stewardship.
Among Executive Committee officers reelected were Chairman Philip Robertson, pastor of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Pineville, Louisiana, and Vice Chairman Tony Dockery, pastor of St. Stephen Baptist Church in La Puente, California.
“It’s been an incredible honor and privilege and I look forward to all that God has in store for us as we continue to partner together for the Gospel,” Robertson said.
Additionally, the Executive Committee elected Nancy Spalding, a retired accountant from Roseville, Michigan, as secretary and Todd Styles, pastor of First Family Church in Ankeny, Iowa, as chair of the Committee on Southern Baptist Relations.
All elections were by acclamation, with no contested elections.
