Rolling Fork, Miss. – Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief is actively serving Mississippians after an EF-4 tornado tore through Rolling Fork, Mississippi, on Friday, March 24, leaving devastation in its wake.
The tornado moved from the southwest to the northeast directly through the town causing extensive damage to buildings, homes and infrastructure in the area.
The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) on Sunday, March 26, reported fatalities stand at 25 with dozens of others injured. That number is subject to change. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing.
Currently, Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief has 12 units deployed, including the Incident Management Response Team, Red River feeding unit, Current-Gaines shower and laundry unit, Clarksville box and recovery units, Russellville box unit, Arkansas River Valley recovery team and chaplain and assessor teams.
Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief is assisting the Mississippi Baptist Disaster Relief team, who reached out for support in response and recovery efforts.
