“The goal of Serve Local is to provide a cooperative effort that assists churches in moving people from the pew to active ministry.”

One Day: Serve Local is an annual one-day missions emphasis for Arkansas Baptist churches to engage their local communities in missions and evangelism. Think of Serve Local as a one-day mission trip taking place in hundreds of locations across our state on the same day. Instead of travelling to another location, the local church simply serves its local community through a variety of ministries of their own choosing.

The Missions Team of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention provides resources to churches who register for the event so they can have a successful Serve Local. But it is local churches that are impacting the community through ministries like block parties, prayer-walking, food pantries, ministry clinics and so much more! If churches do not have time to plan big events, Clint Ritchie, Serve Local coordinator, says, “Everyone can do something. Start small and prayer walk your communities and ask for God to reveal opportunities to serve.”

One Day: Serve Local is held on the Saturday prior to Palm Sunday.

Pray for wisdom as church leaders choose ministries to impact their community, and for boldness in initiating Gospel conversations with those served. Pray also that the Gospel will be received with joy and that lives and communities will be transformed across Arkansas.
