LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – It’s been almost two years since Arkansas Baptists last gathered for ECON, an evangelism and church health conference. However, 2022 is shaping up to be the year of returns as we head back to Geyer Springs Baptist Church in Little Rock on January 24-25 for a jam packed event – the first of many this year.  

ECON will kick off with the Prayer Workshop on January 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Michael Catt, author, former pastor of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia and executive producer and co-creator of Sherwood Pictures, will be leading this time. Pre-registration is encouraged.  

Monday afternoon, ECON will officially kick-off at 1 p.m. with worship from Dave McKinney and the Cross Church Worship Band. This year, we have an array of speakers coming in including:   

Tony Evans is the senior pastor at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church in Dallas, Texas. He’s best known for being a speaker, author, and syndicated radio/television broadcaster in the United States.  

Jim Henry is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and has degrees and honorary degrees from several universities and seminaries. He’s held various positions within the Southern Baptist Convention and other entities and is currently Pastor Emeritus of First Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida.  

Shane Pruitt serves as the National Next Gen Director for the North American Mission Board (NAMB). He’s been in ministry for over 18 years and holds a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and a master’s degree in History. Pruitt and his wife, Kasi, live in Rockwall, Texas with their five children.  

Tom Richter is the pastor of First Baptist Church in Cullman, Alabama. Before moving to Cullman, Richter served as pastor of New Hope Christian Church in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, New York City. Richter and his wife, Jackie, have three kids.  

J.J. Washington is the Evangelism Catalyst at the Georgia Baptist Mission Board. He’s passionate about evangelism and wants to make sure you have all the right and necessary tools needed to reach the lost with the Gospel.  

Michael Catt will also be speaking during ECON. It’s going to be two days of powerful worship and inspiring teaching coming from this incredible and passionate men.  

On Tuesday afternoon, luncheons + workshops will be held in different locations across Geyer Spring’s campus following the end of ECON. While there is no registration for ECON, registration is required for the luncheons.  

Pastors’ Lunch + Workshop will have Jim Henry speaking and leading.  

Student Leaders’ Lunch + Workshop will hear from Shane Pruitt.  

Worship Leaders’ Lunch + Workshop will have John Bolin, Minister of Worship and Arts at Houston’s First Baptist Church, speaking.  

Preschool and Children’s Leaders’ Lunch + Workshop will have Landry Holmes, Manager of Lifeway Kids Ministry Publishing, leading.  

Ministers’ Wives and Women in Ministry Lunch + Workshop will have Debbie Stuart, Green Acres Women’s Minister from Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas, speaking.  

The Arkansas Baptist Foundation will host a Lunch + Workshop focused on Church Administration for Pastors. Something new for 2022.
