ENGAGE Missions Camp for students is back for 2021

Registration is now open. Click here to sign-up!

After an unexpected year off, ENGAGE Missions Camp for students returns to Camp Paron for 2021! ENGAGE is designed to provide participants the experience of a mission trip and summer camp all rolled into one. The theme of ENGAGE Camp each year is taken from one of six basic questions (Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?) concerning our responsibility to live a missional lifestyle.  This year the theme is simply “HOW?” and our theme verse is 1Timothy 4:12.

Participants will explore how to develop and maintain a missional lifestyle during evening worship services with a focus on topics such as endurance/perseverance, spiritual giftedness, personal spiritual growth, cooperation and empowerment. At the same time, campers will examine the role that the Holy Spirit plays in equipping them to fulfill the mission that God has given them.

In addition to evening worship times, students will be engaged in learning about missions through daily breakout sessions. Twice each day, they will be able to choose from a wide variety of subjects including the secret church, spiritual gifts, unreached people groups, networking, church planting, social media presence, evangelism, and much, much more.  Campers will also participate together in a refugee experience to introduce them to ministry among refugees.

On Wednesday and Thursday mornings, campers will participate in local missions and ministry projects. They will be divided into groups and sent out to serve people in the surrounding communities. There will be opportunities for evangelism, prayer walking, construction, clean up and more. There will also be a special cultural immersion experience for select students, providing them with a hands-on opportunity to learn about different cultures and religions and how they can help to reach these groups with the Gospel.  There will be a special commissioning service on Tuesday night before everyone is sent out on Wednesday.

In the evenings after worship, church groups will meet together for a time of debriefing as they discuss the day’s events and all that God is teaching them. After the church meetings, everyone will gather for recreation. This year, campers will be divided into teams and take part  in the ENGAGE Camp Amazing Race. Campers will divide into teams and compete against each other in a series of challenges in an effort to be the first team to cross the finish line on Friday morning. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.

ENGAGE Missions Camp begins at 1:00 p.m. on Monday July 19 and ends at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 23.  Ryan Scantling, Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) Campus Minister for the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, will serve as the camp pastor. Elliot Andrews, worship pastor at First Baptist Church in Batesville will serve as the worship leader. Both of these men love the Lord, have a heart for missions, and desire to see students become disciple makers.

ENGAGE Missions Camp is limited to the first 125 participants (including adults). We may have room for more as we get closer to the start date. There will be a waiting list available once we reach capacity. Registration opens April 12. The cost is $170 per student and $90 per adult. A $50 deposit for each participant must be paid when you register. To register and for more information, go to absc.org/engagecamp.
