“Lord, teach me to pray.”
Referencing Luke 11, Senior Ambassador for the International Mission Board President Gordon Fort said that’s been a consistent request he has made of the Lord for many years.
Fort led the 2023 Prayer Workshop on Monday, which kicked off the State Conference on Evangelism + Church Health (ECON), at Geyer Springs First Baptist Church in Little Rock.
Fort shared about his experiences with the power of prayer.
Fort grew up in Zimbabwe, one of five boys born to medical doctor missionary parents. Fort and his wife, Leigh Ann, have served with the IMB since their appointment in 1985. They began their missions career in Botswana, Africa, where he was a church planter. He has also served as associate to the area director for Southern Africa; as regional leader for Southern Africa; as vice president for the Office of Overseas Operations; and as senior vice president of Prayer Mobilization.
Fort and Leigh Ann have four children and three grandchildren. His passion is to see the Gospel proclaimed to every language, people, tribe and nation.
