Investing in the next generation

This time of year is marked by a confluence of “busy seasons” at the Foundation – one of which is “scholarship season.” Marked by the recent application deadline of Feb. 1 and subsequent scholarship awards being made, administration of scholarships is just one area where our Foundation staff serves Arkansas Baptists.

We believe a scholarship is an investment in the education of a future generation. Through our partnerships with the Convention, we were able to administer 216 scholarships, totaling $648,950, in 2022 to Southern Baptist students who are pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees.

The scholarships we administer were often established to honor the life and legacy of a faithful Arkansas Baptist. The David Bond “Heart of a Servant” Scholarship is a recent example where the Foundation had the opportunity to establish and now award a scholarship in his honor. This scholarship, along with many of the other scholarships we administer, is for those called to vocational ministry. As we visit with pastors, we continually hear of the need for more staff or a shortage of candidates to fill vacant staff positions. On the same note, as revival is taking place and stirring in the hearts of students, this is a critical time for us to be assisting with their education by providing the resources they need to pursue and prepare for a ministry call on their lives.

We ask that you pray for this generation of young students and consider investing in their future through a scholarship that would assist with their education.
