[Ministry Spotlight] Arkansas Baptist Women

I pray 2024 is off to a great start for you and your family. This is going to be an exciting year for Arkansas Baptist Women. We have lots of new things coming your way. I promise. You don’t want to miss any of it!  

This year, we are focusing on what it means to be Arkansas Baptist Women! Women who love the Lord, live on mission for the Gospel, are trained and equipped to lead, and are sold out to Jesus. In the process, we are unveiling a new look, new names for our events, a new leadership team, and new website pages for our resources. I can’t wait to share all the exciting updates with you!   

Arkansas Baptist Women Leadership Team 

The purpose of Arkansas Baptist Women is to resource churches with cutting-edge strategies that encourage and equip women to live out God’s plan for their lives. I love watching God move across our state. A few years ago, I realized the need for a team of leaders to serve in specific areas of ministry so that a strong culture of networking and resource development is established. After several years of planning and praying, I am thrilled to introduce the 2024 Arkansas Baptist Women Leadership Team. These women have answered the call to serve alongside me as we serve you! Each one is trained and ready to serve. These women love the Lord and Arkansas Baptist Women. If you have a need, don’t hesitate to contact any of the leaders in their specialty area. We are here to serve you!  

  • Shari Edwards serves as our Arkansas Baptist Women Network Coordinator. Shari oversees our networking process, the 5 Keys training process, and the Leadership Collective event. Serving alongside Shari are trained and gifted network leaders strategically positioned across Arkansas to serve as a resource and encouragement to Women’s Ministry Leaders.   • Laurie Ormon serves as our Arkansas Baptist Women Conference Coordinator. Laurie gives vision and direction to Conference and organizes the details for the day. Serving alongside Laurie is Renee Bond, who organizes the hospitality portion of Conference. Serving alongside Laurie and Renee are gifted and trained leaders from across Arkansas who each play a vital role in planning, promoting, and implementing Conference.   • Vickie Lee serves as our Arkansas Baptist Women Ministers’ Wives Equipping Coordinator. Vickie oversees the development of Ministers’ Wives Fellowship Groups across Arkansas. Serving alongside Vickie are gifted and trained leaders strategically placed across Arkansas. This team is excited to help you, your church, or your association start a Fellowship Group for Ministers’ Wives in your regional area.   • Sara Mills serves as our Arkansas Baptist Women Ministers’ Wives Encouragement Coordinator. Sara oversees the planning of the Ministers’ Wives Luncheon in conjunction with the Arkansas Baptist State Convention Annual Meeting. Serving alongside Sara are gifted and trained leaders from across Arkansas committed to praying, planning, and hosting an encouraging luncheon for all ministry wives. Network Gatherings 

At Arkansas Baptist Women, we want you to know you are valued as a women’s ministry leader. We want to come alongside you and invest in your leadership journey. One way we do that is through Network Gatherings that offer an opportunity for leaders to gather in regional groups to share ideas, discuss strategy, and get to know one another. The goal is to help grow a strong network of leaders who offer friendship and serve as a resource and encouragement to one another. Our desire is to cultivate relationships among women who lead in the local church as we connect, equip, support, and encourage women’s ministry leaders in each region of the state. Leadership Collective 

Once a year, women’s ministry leaders come together for a special time of training. Leadership Collective is a one-day workshop for women’s ministry leaders in Arkansas. It will occur on Saturday, April 20, at the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. This will be a focused time for women’s ministry leaders to receive ministry training as they connect with one another in an interactive setting. Leadership Collective is a place to find encouragement, ideas, inspiration, and friendship to strengthen our leadership journey. We are excited to welcome Kelly King as our Collective Trainer. Arkansas Baptist Women Conference 

One of our favorite days is when we gather as Arkansas Baptist Women for Conference. You may notice the new name, but we promise the same great experience as in the past. Conference offers an exciting day for all Arkansas Baptist Women. This day is designed for women of all ages and stages of life. You can expect powerful worship, dynamic speakers, and meaningful times of connection that will bless, challenge, and equip you! We are excited to welcome Rachel Lovingood as our keynote speaker and Cory and Stephanie Epps will be leading our time of worship. Registration for Conference opens on March 1, 2024. Arkansas Baptist State Convention Annual Meeting + Ministers’ Wives Conference 

On October 22nd and 23rd, Arkansas Baptists will gather for a time of business, inspiration, and celebration of God’s faithfulness at the Annual Meeting. On Monday, October 21st, the Ministers’ Wives Conference will offer a wonderful lunch and a special time of encouragement. This year’s Annual Meeting will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock. Save the date and stay tuned for more details, as well as a registration link to secure your spot. We want all Ministers’ Wives to know their unique and important role in Arkansas Baptist life. You are loved, and we are grateful to provide a safe place for you to belong. Arkansas Baptist Podcast 

We are excited to unveil a new name for our podcast while providing the same great content. Drumroll…. let’s get excited for the Arkansas Baptist Women Podcast. This podcast will replace Inspire on the Go. Don’t worry. You can still access all the great episodes from the past, and you do not have to resubscribe to follow. Just be on the lookout for the new look and name! Our first episode will drop on January 29! This year on the podcast, we are focusing on what it means to be an Arkansas Baptist Woman!
