Over 200 students from Arkansas State University and Williams Baptist University gathered for a night of prayer and worship on Sunday, October 1. God moved mightily as students sought the presence of Jesus together, repented of sin, prayed for breakthrough, and asked for God to move on college campuses in Northeast Arkansas.

For many students, this was their first intentional prayer meeting. There was no preaching. Just worship music and guided times of prayer. God was faithful to show up in those moments as students filled the altar and prayed with pastors and leaders.

Dr. Bill Elliff guided the night. He shared stories of how God had moved on other campuses throughout history as well as sparks of revival he has seen in the past few months starting with Asbury University. He led students in how to enter the presence of God through prayer and called them to engage the power of prayer to break through sin.

Central Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Jonesboro, Harvest Baptist Church, Highland Drive Baptist Church, Walnut Street Baptist Church, Word Baptist Church, Arkansas State University BCM, and Williams Baptist University Campus Ministries partnered to put on the event.

The night ended with Central Baptist Church baptizing a student in the school’s water fountain. The student shared that he had been saved a few weeks earlier and couldn’t wait any longer to be baptized.
