Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
Jesus Christ will make straight paths for His children who trust, lean on, and acknowledge Him as Lord of their lives. This truth comes to mind especially now at Camp Siloam as the roads into camp are being made over. These roads need to be straight and smooth as over 7,000 children, students, and adults enter the grounds of the Arkansas Baptist Assembly this summer.
Jesus Christ teaches Christians to trust Him and Him alone as Lord of their lives. The fact is that Jeremiah 17:5 teaches that if people trust other people they will be cursed. Therefore, trust the Lord with all the people in your life. Jeremiah 17:7 teaches that if people trust the Lord they will be blessed. Jeremiah 17:9 teaches that even trusting in self will lead to deception. Trust Jesus Christ as Lord, trust him with all the people in your life and trust Him with yourself.
Trust people, be cursed
Trust the Lord, be blessed
Trust your heart, be deceived
Jesus Christ desires for His children to lean upon Him, not people, plans, or the future. Jesus Christ also desires His children to acknowledge Him in all their ways, not just the ones that are convenient.
Trusting, leaning on and acknowledging Jesus Christ in all things gives the Christian a straight path rather than a crooked rough path. The application of these lessons should reduce anger and anxiety. They should help the Christian keep their eyes on Jesus. Let Jesus Christ make straight paths for you and your life.
