Sunday, June 1, has been designated on the Southern Baptist Convention calendar as a special day to recognize and raise awareness of Disaster Relief ministries.

Disaster Relief is a ministry of the heart – caring people going to people in crisis to offer the help, healing, and hope of Jesus Christ.
So far in 2025, 368 Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief (ABDR) volunteers have been deployed. They have completed 6,109 hours of work, gave 140 gospel presentations, and reported 60 professions of faith.
“I am so proud to represent our Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief family and team. When a disaster strikes, our DR volunteers stand up and stand out. Besides helping survivors in a disaster, they always represent the hands and feet of Christ,” ABDR Director Randy Garrett said. “If you want to be part of our family, please go to the website for information on how to attend one of our regional training events.”
The next ABDR regional training event is scheduled Aug. 9 at New Life Baptist in Alexander. Another training will be Sept. 6 at the Olive Street Campus of First Baptist Church in Rogers.
