Letter to the Editor – Family and holidays

Many songs have been written about being home for the holidays.

For our international missionary families, home is a relative term. Families are often separated by thousands of miles. They may be in the tropics, in the stress of learning complicated languages or serving in areas hostile to the gospel.

Parents of missionaries are often deeply concerned about their loved ones serving far away. College-age MK’s (missionary kids) could celebrate the holidays with extended family and only have video chats with immediate family. Younger missionary kids might come home from boarding school for the holidays.

Praying regularly for missionary families is an incredible gift; a form of partnership in their work and a great encouragement.
